Robert C. Walker, Ph.D. — Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Walker joined eLite as CEO in July, 2005, and has served on its Board of Directors since August, 2004. He is also a Principal at YEBY Associates, a Silicon Valley-based consultancy specializing in the Solid State Lighting Industry. From 2001-2004 he served as Managing Director-US of Vincera Ventures, a US$150M venture capital fund based in Taiwan with several investments in the areas of HB LEDs and compound semiconductors. During his 8 years at EMCORE Corporation, a leading provider of MOCVD equipment to the HB LED industry, he held a variety of sales and marketing positions, including General Manager, Pacific Rim. Prior to joining the compound semiconductor industry, Dr. Walker spent 10 years conducting high energy physics research, including several years living in Japan. He received his Ph.D. in Physics from Caltech in 1989 and a triple major in math, physics and computer engineering from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1984. He has traveled extensively throughout the Pacific Rim region, and has been involved with the HB LED epitaxial industry in Taiwan, Korea and China since its inception.

Heng Liu, Ph.D. — Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Liu received his Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in 1991, and developed Emcore’s first GaN MOCVD reactor in 1994.  With that reactor he pioneered Hewlett Packard’s GaN blue LED development and succeeded in creating several generations of products which became the core of what is now Lumileds (an Agilent and Philips joint venture). Dr. Liu later led AXT’s LED operation as CTO, where his team developed high performance and high reliability green and blue InGaN chips, utilizing his MOCVD expertise. Dr. Liu founded eLite in December of 2002 and served as CEO for the first 2 1⁄2 years. He continues to lead the company’s technology team and sets the direction for R&D and Engineering efforts.
 
William So, Ph.D. — Director of Advanced Devices
Dr. So received his Ph.D. from UC Irvine in 1999 and led AXT’s power InGaN LED research and development group which was widely recognized for producing industry-leading chip technology. William’s leadership and technical expertise continue to generate elegant chip designs for customers and inspire eLite’s engineering staff.

Tom Jory — VP of Marketing
Mr. Jory has over 15 years of experience in sales and marketing of optoelectronic products and most recently worked as a consultant to several LED chip and packaging companies. He was previously COO and VP of Sales and Marketing for Oriol, Inc., an InGaN chip producer, and Vice President of LITE-ON, Inc., one of the world's largest LED packagers. His educational background includes a B.S. in Electrical Computer Engineering from U.C. Santa Barbara and an M.B.A. from Santa Clara University.
